Chalet Les Pages is perfect for those seeking modern and comfortable self catered accommodation, for up to 9, in Les Gets part of the huge Portes du Soleil skiing area in winter.
Les Gets at just over 1100 metres is on the snow-line, and gets the same snow falls as other resorts at 2000m! It has a generally good snow record and the most recent winters have been exceptional with the resort opening early at weekends in December. The pistes are all pasture which means that only about 8" or so of snow is needed to ski, rather than the two feet often required for the higher resorts which have rocky terrain to cover.
In addition, Les Gets seems to enjoy more sunny and clear days and less ‘whiteout’ conditions than many of the higher resorts. It is not uncommon in winter and summer to break through the cloud as one enters Les Gets into bright and warm sunshine. In addition the pistes are wide and many – particularly those leading over to Morzine – are tree lined. There is also plenty of off piste skiing available and the village has invested in many new lifts and snow cannon making skiing conditions more reliable and lift queues less of a problem as you are whisked up the mountains.
It is only a short drive to Praz de Lys for extensive cross country skiing and an hour to the renowned ski resorts of the Grand Massif and Chamonix areas. There are also many excellent local restaurants in Les Gets and on the mountains.
Throughout the year the chalet is offered for rent on a self catered basis. The owners have English and French speaking representatives in Les Gets who look after guests. In winter linen and towel hire are included as is standard cleaning at the end of the letting. Our representatives in the resort can arrange substantial discounts for our guests on ski and boot hire. At all times of the year our contacts in the village can also arrange, airport transfers, extra cleaning, pre-arrival shopping and other services at an additional charge if required. Geneva 1 hour away. Cluses for rail 22km away. A car is not needed in winter to get into village and lifts - flat 5 -10 minute walk. Lounge opens out onto a panoramic and large south facing balcony ideal for sitting out, dining and relaxing in the sunshine. Underfloor heating in lounge, kitchen and dining area on ground floor. Efficient and responsive electric heating throughout all three floors.
